Everton are set to sign Bayern Munich youngster Adam Aznou, and the Toffees have also opened talks with Lyon winner Malick Fofana, according to Fabrizio Romano.
Heading into the first season under new ownership, and with a brand-new, state-of-the-art stadium to look forward to, Everton are trying to be ambitious in the market.
So far, they have certainly managed to do that. Dominic Calvert-Lewin has been replaced with highly-rated France youth international Thierno Barry, who has joined from Villarreal for a whopping €30 million.
Additionally, Charly Alcaraz’s loan from Flamengo has been made permanent for €15m, while goalkeeper Mark Travers has joined from Bournemouth for €4.6m.
The Toffees aren’t finished there and are now looking to add two more exciting prospects. According to Fabrizio Romano, Everton are set to sign young Bayern Munich full-back Adam Aznou in a deal worth up to €11m, with the player set to undergo his medical within the next two days.
Everton eye ambitious Fofana swoop
Romano also states that Everton have opened talks with Belgium international Malick Fofana over a very ambitious transfer. The Lyon winger is being chased by the likes of Liverpool and Bayern, but Everton have now started negotiating with the player and his club.
A bid has been made for the 20-year-old, who is understood to be keen to leave Lyon this summer. The Ligue 1 side are also not opposed to selling Fofana as they try to navigate their way out of the financial mess that almost saw them demoted to Ligue 2.
Whether a deal will materialise remains to be seen. Lyon previously agreed a transfer with Nottingham Forest, but Fofana stalled on personal terms as he wanted to wait for offers from Champions League clubs.
Earlier this summer, Everton also attempted a bold move for Liam Delap, who ultimately preferred joining Chelsea. Even if the Merseyside club were to miss out on Fofana as well, they are clearly going for the right players.
