Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Arsenal have made a bid for Brentford midfielder Christian Norgaard.

Romano confirms the news reported by Mads Wehlast that the Gunners have made an offer worth €11 million for Norgaard.

Brentford are demanding a bigger fee so talks will continue.

Romano adds that Norgaard wants to join Arsenal.

Meanwhile, Nicolo Schira reports that Norgaard has already agreed personal terms with Arsenal.

Will Norgaard join Arsenal?

FootballTransfers revealed earlier this month that Tottenham are interested in signing Brentford captain Norgaard.

Spurs have appointed former Bees boss Thomas Frank as their new head coach following the sacking of Ange Postecoglou, with the Danish tactician keen to work with Norgaard again.

Spurs’ interest in the 31-year-old dates back to at least 2023.

FootballTransfers exclusively revealed in November 2023 that Tottenham are huge admirers of the midfield general. The fact that Norgaard is now two years older is not a dealbreaker for Spurs, who are keen to add a bit of experience to their midfield ahead of their Champions League campaign.

Norgaard has been Brentford’s captain since 2023 and was nigh on ever-present when fit and available. In the season just gone, he made 34 Premier League appearances and chipped in with a respectable five goals and four assists.

The 35-time Denmark international has shown that he is capable of performing at a solid Premier League level and would no doubt be a valuable addition to the Arsenal or Spurs squad.

Brentford are at risk of being completely disassembled, having already lost Bryan Mbeumo this summer.
