Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Dominic Calvert-Lewin has been offered to Man Utd.

The giant striker is currently a free agent after his contract at Everton expired at the end of last month.

Romano says that Calvert-Lewin has been offered to United, who have registered the approach and the costs of bringing the player to Old Trafford.

What did Romano say?

“What has happened with Calvert-Lewin is the player has been offered to Manchester United,” Romano said on his YouTube channel.

“It is not Man Utd starting negotiations for Calvert-Lewin.

“The player has been offered as an opportunity on a free transfer.

“It is a big opportunity for a player who has experience, knows the league, and can be helpful for any club.

“So Man Utd registered the eventual cost of the deal; the salary, the commission, the intention of the player – who will be very open and excited to join Man Utd.

“But at the moment it is not a concrete negotiation. It is not something Man Utd are doing today or tomorrow.

“Man Utd will assess their options for the striker position and they will decide.

“Calvert-Lewin is an option.”

Calvert-Lewin spent nine seasons at Everton, scoring 71 goals in 274 games.

He was one of England’s most admired strikers a few years back, even scoring four goals in 11 caps for his country.

However, he has struggled with injury problems in recent years that have derailed his career.

Still only 28, Calvert-Lewin could be a cheap option for United this summer.

The Red Devils are in the market for a top number nine having missed out on top target Viktor Gyokeres as well as Liam Delap.
