Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Noni Madueke is now an Arsenal player after officially signing his contract.

Romano reports that Madueke has signed his Arsenal contract on a five-year deal that runs until 2030.

Madueke successfully passed his medical on Monday.

Madueke joins Arsenal

Arsenal will pay Chelsea a fixed fee of €55 million with €5m in add-ons for the winger.

The England international has accepted a five-year contract at the Emirates until 2030.

News of Madueke’s imminent move has not gone down well with Arsenal fans, who believe that the Gunners should be aiming for better players than Madueke.

There have been many angry and insulting comments directed towards Madueke and the club on social media, while Arsenal fans made a petition on change.org called ‘#NOTOMADUEKE’, which picked up more than 3,000 signatures in one day.

Nevertheless, this opposition from fans has not stopped Arsenal from signing Madueke.

Madueke was available for transfer at Chelsea after the club spent heavily on wingers Joao Pedro from Brighton and Jamie Gittens from Borussia Dortmund.

The Gunners are in the market for reinforcements for both flanks. On the left, they want an upgrade on Gabriel Martinelli, while they are also seeking a backup to Bukayo Saka on the right.

Madueke, who is most comfortable on the right but can also play on the left, would initially come in to deputise for and compete with Saka.

Madueke came through the youth academies of Crystal Palace and Tottenham before moving to PSV where he made his name.

He scored 20 goals in 80 games for PSV before moving to Chelsea in 2023 for €33 million.

He has made 91 appearances and scored 20 goals, while he has been capped 13 times by England.
