Jadon Sancho’s future remains “completely open” according to football transfer news expert Fabrizio Romano, who has discussed the future of the Manchester United star, who is currently on loan at Chelsea.

Sancho has been one of the major transfer talking points for months. After falling out with former Man Utd boss Erik ten Hag early in the 2023/24 season, he has barely featured for the Red Devils, joining first Borussia Dortmund and then Chelsea on temporary deals.

Such have been Sancho’s struggles to make an impact with the Blues, though, Enzo Maresca’s side are ready to pay €6m just to wriggle out of this agreement.

Romano reveals Jadon Sancho’s future

Romano says that this is not necessarily the case, with the 25-year-old, who has an Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) of €36.2m, now playing for his future at Chelsea.

“It all depends on Chelsea. They haven’t told Man United about Sancho being sent back to them. So the story is considered absolutely open, and the final games could prove important, crucial to deciding Sancho’s future at Stamford Bridge,” Romano told GiveMeSport.

What is certain, according to Romano, is that even if Sancho is sent back to Man Utd, he will not pull on the famous red jersey again.

“He’s not planning in any case to return to Manchester United, something seen as ‘almost impossible’ by those close to the player – and also those close to Manchester United,” Romano explains. “It’d take a crazy turnaround, completely driven by the manager and not by the management who decided to sell the player last summer, in order to make it happen. It doesn’t look realistic.”

FootballTransfers understands that Wolves are exploring the possibility of signing Sancho in the summer, while interest is otherwise likely to come from abroad.
