Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Man Utd hope to sign a striker, goalkeeper and central midfielder before the end of the summer transfer window.

United made a proposal on Saturday evening to RB Leipzig, informing them of their plans to make an official bid for Benjamin Sesko once the striker informs them of his desire to join them.

What did Romano say?

“Man Utd are considering the possibility of bringing in a new midfielder,” Romano said on his YouTube channel.

“Their priority is to sign an important striker, like Benjamin Sesko.

“Goalkeeper is a possibility. This could be an experienced option like Emi Martinez or a younger goalkeeper like Senne Lammens.

“And then there is the option of signing a midfielder.”

Romano made it clear in his video that Man Utd will certainly sign a striker and that this will be their priority between now and the end of August.

And then if it is possible they will move for a goalkeeper and midfielder.

The new goalkeeper is expected to be a race, as Romano says, between Aston Villa’s Emiliano Martnez and Royal Antwerp’s Semme Lammens. United are unhappy with the performances of Andre Onana and would like to replace him.

In midfield, United have been heavily linked with Barcelona’s Fermin Lopez in recent days, although Romano said in the same video that there was “nothing concrete” in these reports and that Barca were not planning to sell.

It is understood that United will likely have to offload players before they can move for a goalkeeper and midfielder.

Marcus Rashford has moved to Barcelona on loan but there are a number of other transfer listed stars who haven’t been offloaded yet such as Alejandro Garnacho, Rasmus Hojlund and Tyrell Malacia.

United have spent heavily this summer, bringing in trikes of Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo for a cost of over €150 million.
