Football transfer news reporter Fabrizio Romano has delivered the latest news from the 2025 summer window, with updates on Victor Osimhen, Nico Williams and Myles Lewis-Skelly.

Ansu Fati to leave Barcelona

Ansu Fati has been heavily linked with a Barcelona exit in recent months, after falling out of favour at Camp Nou, and Romano has now confirmed that a departure will take place.

“The understanding from sources is that this deal for Ansu Fati to join Monaco is expected to happen. They just need to fix something in a complicated deal. There’s going to be a loan, a buy clause, the coverage of the salary and a sell-on clause. There are many details to clarify.

“The general agreement for the deal is almost there, but the details are still being fixed.”

Kyle Walker update

Meanwhile, Romano has also revealed that Kyle Walker is guaranteed to leave Man City this summer. The England international joined AC Milan on loan in January and a permanent exit is now on the cards.

“[Walker] is not staying at Man City. It’s a decision made by Pep Guardiola and the directors at Man City, and Walker is also ready for a new chapter,” Romano admitted.

“There is some interest from Fenerbahce. They called to be informed on the situation as he is a player appreciated by Jose Mourinho. There was a conversation to understand the situation so let’s see if they want to advance.”

Myles Lewis-Skelly to Real Madrid?

Arsenal wonderkid Myles Lewis-Skelly has been linked with a sensational move to Real Madrid in recent weeks, but Romano has clarified that he is expected to sign a new deal at the Emirates Stadium this summer – as exclusively revealed by FootballTransfers.

Romano revealed on YouTube: “Real Madrid are attentive to opportunities. They started working on a deal for Trent [Alexander-Arnold] a long time ago as they always do that when there’s an opportunity to sign a talent.

“But, my information is that Arsenal are very calm and they are very optimistic to get a new deal done for Lewis-Skelly. There is a conversation ongoing and they are going very well.

“Arsenal are very relaxed about the contract situation of Lewis-Skelly and Ethan Nwaneri as their idea is to extend both players’ contracts. The deal for these extensions is absolutely on.”

Nico Williams latest

Nico Williams continues to dominate the transfer headlines and he is now eager to join Barcelona this summer, with Romano confirming that talks are underway.

“On Friday there was a meeting between the agent of Nico Williams and Barcelona,” the transfer expert said. “The player is keen on a move to Barcelona. He wants to go to Barcelona, that’s 100% confirmed.

“The other clubs in the race for Williams know that he has given his priority to Barcelona. Marcus Rashford and Luis Diaz are also on the list of Barcelona, so who do they want to sign?

“For Nico, there is a €58m release clause, but it must be paid in one solution. The ball is now in Barcelona’s court because the player wants to go to Barcelona.

“It depends on Barcelona, which is why Bayern keep calling. They had two meetings with his agent and they want to continue contact in the next [few] days and weeks. There is also interest from Arsenal.

“The problem for Arsenal and Bayern is that Williams would only leave Athletic Club if he receives an important salary. Otherwise, he has a contract proposal from Athletic.

Al-Hilal still want Victor Osimhen

Romano also confirmed that Al-Hilal remain determined to sign Victor Osimhen, despite the fact that he has already rejected a move to the Saudi Pro League outfit.

“My understanding is that Al-Hilal are still not giving up on Victor Osimhen,” Romano revealed. “They have not left the conversation and they remain interested.

“They believe other clubs can’t compete with their financial proposal and this is why they want to try, despite the rejection of the player to play at the Club World Cup with them.

“They want to try again as they had an agreement with Napoli and they are expected to return to talks with Osimhen.”

Sverre Nypan to Man City

Finally, Romano revealed that Sverre Nypan will become Man City’s fifth signing of the summer, following the arrivals of Tijjani Reijnders, Rayan Ait-Nouri, Rayan Cherki and Marcus Bettinelli.

Nypan will reportedly undergo his medical on Monday ahead of a €15m move from Rosenborg.
