Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Viktor Gyokeres doesn’t want to join Manchester United.
Gyokeres is in the middle of a war with Sporting Lisbon as he tries to push through a move to Arsenal.

This has now been confirmed by Romano.
What did Romano say?
âViktor Gyokeresâ priority remains Arsenal. He wants to go to Arsenal and play Champions League football,â Romano said.
âHe never rejected Manchester United but he told them his priority would be Arsenal. So letâs follow the Gyokeres-Benjamin Sesko situation at Arsenal, which is still ongoing.”
Romano also added that Gyokeres is considering going on strike in order to get his move to Arsenal.
âWe can confirm reports from Portugal that Gyokeres has told Sporting that he doesnât want to play for them any more. He wants to go,” Romano said.
“He doesnât even want to train if the situation continues like this. He wants his exit pact to be respected. And so now itâs on Sporting to find a solution.â
Arsenal have been unable to complete a deal for Gyokeres because Sporting Lisbon have been demanding a bigger than expected transfer fee.
A public war has erupted between the playerâs entourage and his club over his asking price.
Gyokeresâ agents claim that Sporting broke a promise to sell him for âŹ60m plus âŹ10m in bonuses this summer, while Sporting have denied a promise was ever made.
Consequently, Arsenal have been simultaneously working on a deal for Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko and would sign him if the problems surrounding Gyokeres can’t be sorted.
Gyokeres is the hottest striking property around right now after having an incredible season, scoring 54 goals in 52 games in all competitions, and leading Sporting to another league title.
This follows on from his brilliant form from last season for Sporting where he scored 43 goals in all competitions for his club.
