The 2025 summer transfer window is officially open and clubs are now able to complete business during a 10-day period due to the Club World Cup.
FIFA have introduced a mini transfer window from 1-10 June thanks to the presence of the inaugural summer Club World Cup, and teams across world football possess the ability to bolster their squads with new signings as a result.
The transfer window will then briefly shut before reopening on 16 June for clubs in the Premier League and 1 July for the majority of European leagues. It will then stay open until Deadline Day on 1 September.
1 June saw Real Madrid officially complete the signings of Liverpool superstar Trent Alexander-Arnold and Bournemouth defender Dean Huijsen, and Manchester United confirm the arrival of Matheus Cunha from Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Meanwhile, Chelsea announced the signing of Dario Essugo on 2 June.
On June 3, Brentford signed Liverpool goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher to replace the Bayer Leverkusen-bound Mark Flekken, while promoted Sunderland broke their transfer record to make Enzo Le Fee’s loan from Roma permanent.
Liam Delap’s move to Chelsea was the big deal on 4 June, while Arsenal sold Nuno Tavares to Lazio on June 5, a day that also saw Juventus splash out €15m on Pierre Kalulu from AC Milan.
Wirtz and Friday’s deals to watch
Numerous big deals are coming close to fruition, with Liverpool’s move for Bayer Leverkusen’s Florian Wirtz one that is expected to get over the line soon.
Equally, Real Madrid seem to be making very real progress in a move to sign River Plate’s Franco Mastantuono after he appeared destined for PSG.
Neither of these moves are official, but they are expected to happen soon.
