Alvaro Morata clashes with local mayor over home reveal

Alvaro Morata has furiously revealed he will be leaving his new residence in Italy ‘immediately’ despite only just relocating there amid fears for his and his children’s safety after the city’s mayor revealed the former Chelsea striker’s location.

The Spaniard made the move to AC Milan in the summer fresh from captaining Spain to the European Championship title after beating England in the final.

Morata’s £10.9 move from Atletico Madrid was confirmed as the forward made the switch to Italy and has enjoyed a decent start to life at the San Siro, scoring two goals in six games across all competitions.

However, joining a new club comes with the hassle of finding a new place to live and Morata eventually settled on the municipality of Corbetta at a time while he is also going through a divorce with wife Alice Campello.

The pair announced their breakup in August following seven years of marriage, during which time they have had four children together.

Morata has now fumed at mayor Marco Ballarini after the Italian posted an update on his Instagram profile confirming the 31-year-old had decided to settle in the region close to Milan.

Announcing the news in a bizarre breaking transfer news style that Fabrizio Romano has become iconic for, Ballarini stated: ‘ALVARO MORATA E’ DI CORBETTA, HERE WE GO! No it’s not an early April Fool’s Day. The champion Alvaro Morata is our new #Corbetta! resident.

‘The Spanish bomber, newly acquired #Milan, is finalising practice for the official move to his new (wonderful) home in our city.

‘You know, I’m a huge Inter fan, but I’m pleased to welcome Alvaro to our big Corbetta family! And as Fabrizio Romano would say… ALVARO MORATA MOVES TO CORBETTA, HERE WE GO!’.

While the post may be good-hearted, Morata is now fearing that his privacy and the safety of his children could be threatened as rival supporters now know where he will be living.

Morata responded on social media by insisting that he is now ‘compelled to move immediately’ in response to his private residential location being exposed.

‘Dear Mr. Mayor, thank you for the invasion of my privacy. Fortunately, I don’t have any. The only treasure is my children, whose safety has been disturbed by you,’ retorted Morata on his Instagram story.

‘I thought the municipality of Corbetta could guarantee me something. Instead, I feel compelled to move immediately because of your inability to use social networks,’ he added.

However, Morata’s safety fears appear to have fallen on deaf ears with the mayor mocking the Spain star in a follow-up post sharing a video with the caption: ‘Last time saying hello to someone, bye’ alongside a waving emoji.

The Milan goalscorer didn’t post another lengthy update on the situation but shared an image on his Instagram story that showed a banner posted by another user with the words ‘Morata mayor’ inscribed.
