Trent Alexander-Arnold is on track to be fit for the Merseyside Derby and is set to train on Tuesday after a thigh injury.
Mail Sport reported last week how the England full back was targeting this fixture after he suffered a thigh injury in Liverpool’s win over Bournemouth a fortnight ago.
Conor Bradley has deputised admirably and it is a firm 50/50 whether the Northern Irishman or Alexander-Arnold get the nod for Wednesday’s trip to Everton.
But Slot has confirmed the vice-captain is back in training and in contention to play — should they risk him.
‘Trent has done parts of training sessions with us, session yesterday so let’s see how he is today,’ said the boss.
‘He will train hopefully with us and then we have to decide if we take him to the game.’

Alexander-Arnold could be available for the Merseyside derby against Everton on Wednesday
Slot has been careful with players this season and not pushing them too far so he could well decide to give Bradley another start after he was rested for the trip to Plymouth on Sunday.
One decision has been taken out of his hands, though, and centre back Joe Gomez will not be fit after limping off after just 10 minutes of the game in Devon.
‘Joe is the same leg as last time but he will definitely not be available for the game tomorrow,’ said Slot. ‘That is definitely a concern.’
The Englishman had only recently returned from a hamstring injury suffered just after Christmas so this is a disappointing blow for Gomez.
