Aussie football star celebrates scoring his first goal of the season by doing the viral 'Donald Trump dance'

Western United star Noah Botic is in flying form having returned three assists and one goal in his last two appearances for the club.

The rising star produced a hat-trick of assists during his side’s 3-1 win against Perth Glory last week before he returned on Sunday to strike the ball into the back of the net against rivals Melbourne Victory in the Westgate Derby.

It was a stunning strike too, with the 22-year-old centre forward collecting a long pass inside a congested Victory penalty area, before turning and firing the ball into the back of the opposition net.

It was his first goal of the season, having made six appearances for United during the current league campaign and his celebration was perhaps just as excellent as the goal.

After jumping high into the air, he embraced several members of his team, before rather hilariously becoming the latest athlete to partake in the ‘Donald Trump dance’ trend.

NFL players, Calvin Ridley and Za’Darius Smith have both performed the move, while fellow football star Christian Pulisic also got in on the act.

British Golfer Charley Hull has also been seen out on the course doing the dance.

The dance has been popularised by the US President Elect, who, throughout his campaign has performed the humerous boogey that sees Trump close his fists and pump his arms from side to side.

Botic, who hails from New South Wales, joined United from Hoffenheim back in 2021.

He has represented Australia at U23 and U17 level.

Despite his celebrations, Botic’s side have endured a tough start to the new campaign, with united currently 10th in the league, having won only one of their previous five matches.

Zinedine Machach put Melbourne Victory 1-0 up after eight minutes, before Botic levelled the scores just 10 minutes later.

Melbourne, who have lost just once this season, stepped up a gear in the second half, with Nikos Vergos and Bruno Fornaroli both finding the back of the net to seal the 3-1 win.
