Birmingham 2-3 Newcastle: Magpies book FA Cup fifth round spot thanks to Joe Willock's brace after Blues score inside 40 seconds in a thrilling clash

Newcastle booked their place in the FA Cup fifth round with a thrilling 3-2 win over Birmingham City.  

Blues defender Ethan Laird shocked Eddie Howe’s men by opening the scoring inside 40 seconds. 

The visitors then got on level terms in controversial fashion when Joe Willock turned in William Osula’s pull back in the 21st minute. 

Newcastle took the lead five minutes later through Callum Wilson before Tomoki Iwata’s stunning strike levelled the game just before the break. 

Willock then struck with eight minutes remaining to secure the victory for Newcastle.
