Bruno Fernandes is confident that the goals will come for Rasmus Hojlund if he continues to work as hard for the team as he did on Thursday night.
Hojlund started and played the full 90 minutes as United beat Real Sociedad 4-1 at Old Trafford to win their Europa League last-16 tie 5-2 on aggregate.
The striker was unable to end a run of over 20 games without a goal, missing a guilt-edged chance in the first half.
However, he was very involved, winning Fernandes’ first penalty and teeing up Diogo Dalot to score the fourth after a lovely bit of skill.
And Fernandes, who scored a hat-trick on the night, thinks his team-mate just needs to continue playing like that and the goals will come naturally.
‘Rasmus is unlucky the guy fouls him or it is a goal,’ the United captain said on the spot-kick won by Hojlund as he was interviewed on the pitch after the game.

Hojlund has another frustrating outing in front of goal but also had encouraging moments
‘We are here for each other. You can see it at times, not yet the way the manager and we want but as I said the progress will come if we get results, this club is all about results, we want to win games.
‘Strikers are all about goals, you will be criticised by scoring and not scoring.
‘We want Ramsus to score as many as we can but at the same time he is doing a lot of movements so it is a lot of things he does you sometimes cannot see but we see it and how much he wants to score and I am sure the goals will come.’
Commenting on the victory itself, Fernandes added: ‘it is always important, this club is all about winning, we want to perform the best we can, we need to win games and in this competition there is no other option, we are in or out.
‘We have a long way to go but we are confident we can focus on every game and win the right game with the right mentality.
