England star Jude Bellingham was on target as Real Madrid missed out on a top-eight finish and direct entry to the round of 16, despite winning 3-0 at Brest.

Bellingham’s 56th-minute strike from close range sandwiched Rodrygo’s brace for the 15-time champions, who had started the match 16th in the standings.

The Brazilian’s opener came after 27 minutes and he completed the scoring 12 minutes from time with his 10th goal in as many games.

The home side thought they had equalised in the 51st minute through Ludovic Ajorque but, following a VAR check, his effort was disallowed due to offside in the build-up.

Ousmane Dembele scored a hat-trick to maintain his rich vein of scoring form as Paris Saint-Germain won 4-1 at Stuttgart to stave off fears of an early exit.

The French giants knew that a defeat risked ending a run of 12 straight years playing in the knockout stage but they were 3-0 ahead at half-time, with Dembele playing a starring role.
