Chelsea 1-1 Nottingham Forest: Madueke equalises to deny 10-man Forest a win

Chelsea 1-1 Nottingham Forest: Nottingham Forest held firm to deny Chelsea all three points at Stamford Bridge.

Enzo Maresca’s side entered the clash in a rich vein of form but struggled to capitalise on their chances throughout much of the opening half.

The game erupted into life as the interval approached however, and the hosts came close to scrambling an opener over the line before Wesley Fofana produced a crucial block to deny Alex Moreno at the end.

Forest were always going to be dangerous from set pieces with James Ward-Prowse at their disposal and he delivered early in the second half, whipping a free-kick in that Chris Wood converted from close range.

Chelsea quickly responded to going behind, and within ten minutes had found their equaliser when Noni Madueke produced a drilled strike into the bottom corner after cutting inside from the right flank.
