Chelsea eyeing Borussia Dortmund winger Karim Adeyemi

Chelsea have shown interest in Borussia Dortmund winger Karim Adeyemi but he only wants Champions League football if he is to leave the Bundesliga side.

Chelsea want another versatile forward as well as a striker and Adeyemi has been discussed but the German international is understood to be unreceptive to a move to Stamford Bridge.

The 22-year-old was one of his club’s stand out performers in their Champions League final defeat to Real Madrid at Wembley last month, and he wants to pick up where he left off should he be sold this summer.

Dortmund, who are signing Serhou Guirassy from Stuttgart and want Lyon’s Rayan Cherki and Brighton’s Pascal Gross, are open to selling Adeyemi for around £35million.

That has alerted clubs across Europe, including some in England, but Adeyemi is set only on playing for a side competing in the elite club competition.

Meanwhile, new Chelsea signing Tosin Adarabioyo has impressed staff with his early showings in pre-season training under new boss Enzo Maresca.

The centre-back, who joined as a free agent this summer after leaving Fulham, has drawn plaudits from coaches for his application and the speed at which he has adapted to his new surroundings and teammates.

Supporters have also been quick to pass comment after footage from the training sessions was aired on the club’s TV channels and featured Adarabioyo shouting encouragement to his new teammates such as Malo Gusto under the watchful eyes of co-sporting directors Laurence Stewart and Paul Winstanley.

Adarabioyo, speaking to club’s website, said: ‘It’s only been two days but you can see the detail the boss wants to go into already, how important every single pass and touch is.’
