Crystal Palace sign Ismaïla Sarr for £12.6m

Crystal Palace have agreed to pay £12.6m for Marseille forward Ismalia Sarr who is poised to sign a five-year contract.

Marseille president Pablo Longoria has given the green light for Sarr to make a quick return to the Premier League.

The player will now travel to London to undergo a medical before the move is made official.

Palace’s sporting director, Dougie Freedman, is known to be a fan of Sarr’s, too, with reports saying he’s pursued the player for more than six years.

It was believed that Sarr wanted to stay in France but was also open to joining a Premier League club again.

The player will add nicely to the Eagles’ attacking line, after winger Michael Olise joined Bayern Munich earlier in the window.

A move to South London wouldn’t be alien to Sarr, either, having already spent four years in England playing for Watford.

He scored 34 goals and provided 22 assists in 131 games for the Hornets, between 2019 and 2023.

Sarr left Vicarage Road last summer, signing for Marseille for an undiscolsed fee.
