DIMITAR BERBATOV: My entire career clad in red shirts, yet I cherished the brown and gold Tottenham kit

I played in red shirts my whole career, pretty much, at CSKA Sofia, Bayer Leverkusen, Manchester United and Monaco.

But at Tottenham we had a brown and gold third kit and I really fancied it, we looked so cool and I said, ‘We need to play in this all the time.’

Spurs introduced me to the Premier League and I have happy memories at White Hart Lane. Martin Jol was the coach and he trusted me completely.

We had some crazy games, man… 4-3, 6-4, I kept thinking, ‘What the heck is going on here?’. We were just trying to entertain and I can see that again with Ange Postecoglou now, scoring late, making the fans go crazy. I am happy to see Spurs are back.

I loved playing with Robbie Keane, we made each other better players. We managed to win the League Cup, too!

When it comes to shirts, Dimitar Berbatov has fond memories of Spurs’ brown and gold kit
