By way of Georgia’s win over Portugal in the final game of Group F, the Three Lions have earned a round-of-16 tie with Slovakia who finished third in Group E.

It has also seen England handed a somewhat favourable path through the knockouts to the final.

They will still have to face tricky opposition with the likes of Switzerland, Austria and the Netherlands all lurking in the next rounds.

But they have in large managed to avoid the serious threats with all of Portugal, France, Spain and Germany on the other side of the draw.
