Erik ten Hag Suffers Triple Injury Setback before Man United’s Clash with Bayern Munich as Harry Maguire, Raphael Varane, and Mason Mount Rule Out, Despite Earlier Training

Mason Mount, Raphael Varane and Harry Maguire have all been left off Manchester United’s squad list for their Champions League clash with Bayern Munich tomorrow.

Mount and Varane returned to first team training on Tuesday morning, but have not recovered in time to make the plane to Germany.

Maguire also trained with the squad but misses out, with United confirming he has picked up an unspecified injury.

The trio failing to make the trip represents more bad news for Erik ten Hag, who has watched his side lose three of their first five matches this season.

They were beaten 3-1 by Brighton on Saturday, with Gary Neville admitting his former club had been ‘dismantled’ by the Seagulls, as he raised concerns about the team’s start to the season.

Harry Maguire has not made Man United’s squad for their game with Bayern Munich after picking up an injury

Aaron Wan-Bissaka suffered a hamstring injury after coming off the bench in the latter stages of that game, and he is not expected to play again for ‘several weeks’.

He has now been joined on the sidelines by Mount, Varane and Maguire, while Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia are also long-term absentees.

Ten Hag can’t call upon Antony either, after the winger was given a leave of absence following abuse allegations made against him by multiple women.

Jadon Sancho remains out of the picture as well, with Ten Hag not considering him for selection until the England international apologises him for claiming on social media that he had been made a ‘scapegoat’ at the club.
