Everton are reportedly close to reaching an agreement with Tottenham over revised payment structure for Dele Alli.
The Toffees agreed to a complex transfer in January 2022 which would have seen Tottenham receive a significant fee if Alli signed a new deal at Goodison Park.
However, the 28-year-old is currently a free agent after his contract with Everton expired last month.
The Merseyside club are in talks with Tottenham over new payment structure that would allow them to resign Alli, according to The Athletic.
The new structure will likely include a sell-on clause if Everton end up selling Alli for a fee in the future.

Alli has not made a first-team appearance in over a year amid a string of problems
Alli has not made a first-team appearance in over a year โ which came during his loan at Besiktas โ amid a string of problems, including a groin injury.
The midfielder last year opened up on his mental health problems and struggles with addiction since he was last seen on a Premier League football pitch.
Following his deeply emotional and candid revelation in July 2023, he was hoping to make a swift comeback. But a fresh injury setback scuppered plans of a speedy reintegration and leave him some way short of a return to action.
Regarding Alliโs return date, Everton boss Sean Dyche said in February: โWeโll see. Thereโs a long way to go. Weโve deliberately kept him back, we agreed with him to give him time and space. Hopefully heโll be back, we just donโt know.
โWeโve given him the privacy he needs at this time. Heโs in good shape. I spoke to him recently and we had a good long conversation with him.
โMaking sense of another injury is difficult but heโll come through that.โ
Although heโs currently a free agent, Alli is hopeful of earning a new deal at Everton and last week showed off his individual work on the pitch via Instagram.
