Fans have speculated that Oliver Glasner has already commenced his work at Crystal Palace after the Austrian was spotted in attendance for Tottenham’s defeat by Wolves.
Glasner, formerly of Bundesliga sides Wolfsburg and Eintracht Frankfurt, is the leading candidate to replace Roy Hodgson in the dugout at Selhurst Park.
Hodgson was rushed to hospital earlier this week after falling ill during a training session, with reports suggesting that the 76-year-old may step away from the sport entirely.
Palace have endured a dismal run of late with just three wins in their last 19 games leaving them just five points clear of the relegation zone in 16th.
Speculation surrounding Glasner’s appointment at the club has evoked excitement among Palace supporters, with photos of the Austrian at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium only adding to the feeling of anticipation on social media.

One fan wrote: ‘Nice! Good bit of prep and scouting ahead of the upcoming game!’
Another added: ‘Yeah he already shows himself as a man who wants to WORK. love him already.’
One supporter agreed: ‘Not even at the club yet and he’s already fully committed. My manager.’
A further fan insisted that they would remain apprehensive until the deal is officially completed: ‘Man I don’t wanna say anything too much until he’s holding the shirt up but I really do f****** love this.’
Glasner led Frankfurt to Europa League glory against Rangers in 2022 before departing the club at the end of last season.
Palace fans reacted excitedly at the news on social media, claiming Glasner was ‘scouting’ the North London club
Since then the 49-year-old has been repeatedly linked with a move to the Premier League and was reportedly in contention for the Nottingham Forest job when Steve Cooper was sacked in December.
Should Glasner be appointed to succeed Hodgson at Selhurst Park his analysis from Saturday’s clash will soon prove useful.
