Fenerbahce’s players headed off the pitch minutes into the second leg of their Europa League tie against Anderlecht.
Jose Mourinho’s side were 3-0 up after the first leg in Turkey last week and things got off to the perfect start on Thursday as Youssef En-Nesyri scored early.
However, moments after the goal, the match was suspended when Mourinho instructed his players to come off the pitch following an incident.
It was initially unclear what caused the halt to the game, but TNT Sports’ live coverage claimed it was due to a security issue, with both teams heading back to the dressing room, although the fans remained in their seats.
News subsequently emerged the game had been suspended after fights broke out in the stands, with a delay of 15 minutes initially announced.
