German Resort: Ronaldo and Fernandes to Stay at Euro 2024

The Portugal national team will make their way to Germany for Euro 2024 following Saturday’s friendly with Croatia and Cristiano Ronaldo and co will be setting up base in the perfect setting.

The team will be based at the Hotel-Residence Klosterpforte in Marienfeld throughout the tournament.

Marienfeld is a quiet village about an hour from Dortmund and the hotel is one that is particularly popular with top athletes.

Nestled on the edge of the Teutoburg Forest, the hotel boasts the perfect facilities for a team taking part in a tournament.

The grounds have two ‘FIFA standard’ football pitches as well as a fully equipped gym, indoor spa and swimming pool.

The hotel website reads: ‘next to our hotel premises you will find our sports grounds with ‘excellent’ FIFA pitches.

‘The two football pitches are used regularly by international as well as German national league football clubs.

‘Our grounds offer ideal conditions for corporate events, team building, incentives, individual training or company tournaments including social programmes with space for spectators.

‘A great number of sports facilities offer excellent conditions for achieving the best possible training effect.’

Portugal will arrive in Germany with serious hopes of winning the European Championship, just as they did eight years ago.

Roberto Martinez’s team come into the tournament after qualifying with the best record of any team, winning all of their games while scoring the most and conceding the least.

They are clearly the team to beat in Group F, having been drawn alongside Czechia, Turkey and Georgia.

And A Selecao das Quinas have the added motivation of giving captain Cristiano Ronaldo the perfect send-off in his 11th and most likely last major international tournament.
