Hungary striker Martin Adam signs for new club

Hungary forward Martin Adam became a hit with fans at Euro 2024 and he has now taken another step in his club career.

The 29-year-old was described as an ‘absolute unit’ by fans after featuring as a substitute for Hungary in their defeat to Switzerland.

Adam was involved in all three of Hungary’s group stage games at the tournament, also coming off the bench against Germany and Scotland.

Earlier this month, Adam’s two-year stay at South Korean side Ulsan HD came to an end.

However, he has quickly managed to find a new club.

The next step in Adam’s club career will see him link up with Greek top flight side Asteras Tripolis.

Adam has scored three goals in 25 appearances for Hungary, having made his international debut in March 2022.

He commenced his career in Hungary with Vasas and then played for Kaposvar and Paks prior to his switch to Ulsan.

After he featured against Switzerland, one fan commented that Adam looks more like a centre-back than a striker.

They wrote: ‘Hungary no.9 is the most centre back looking striker I’ve ever seen’.

Another wrote: ‘F*****g hell Hungary’s no.9 is an absolute unit’.

A further user added: ‘This Hungary’s no 9 that just came on looks like an actor in those Viking movies’.
