Former Manchester United midfielder Jesse Lingard scored his first goal for FC Seoul on Wednesday in a 2-0 win over Gangwon in South Korea’s K League 1.
The 31-year-old converted a penalty kick to give his side the lead in the 56th minute before team-mate Ryu Jae-moon wrapped up Seoul’s second win in four days.
This was Lingard’s 10th appearance for Seoul following his arrival on a free transfer in early February.
The 67,000-seater Seoul World Cup Stadium was barely half full but there was plenty of noise inside the ground after Lingard’s spot-kick hit the net.
In addition to the sound of cheering fans, multiple fireworks were released behind the goal as Lingard celebrated with the rest of the team.
