Kylian Mbappe’s English accent leaves fans stunned

Football fans have been left shocked by a recent interview by Kylian Mbappe, with some unconvinced of its authenticity.

The France superstar sat down with CNN’s Amanda Davies at the inaugural Globe Soccer Awards Europe in Italy at the end of last month, where he took home the Best Men’s Player prize.

Mbappe enjoyed a stunning final season with PSG before years of speculation linking him to Real Madrid came to an end when he was confirmed as the newest Galactico on June 3.

The Spanish giants were not the topic of discussion in a clip that has resurfaced online, instead the 25-year-old looked ahead to the upcoming European Championships, where France will bid to claim the trophy for the first time in 24 years.

And despite previously showing off his English language skills, the sight of the striker has stunned some fans. Moreover, his accent has seemingly convinced others that the footage is AI generated.

‘This has to be AI,’ wrote one user on X. Another said: ‘With the amount of recent AI stuff going around. I refuse to believe that’s his voice.

‘I thought this was AI when it first started…’ Commented a third. Another wrote: ‘Nah is this AI? Lol.’

‘I’m a mixture of shocked / half expecting this to be some mentally realistic AI stunt. Swear he’s never spoken English before.’ Said another fan.

Mbappe is heading into his fourth major tournament but his first as the captain of the France national team. Their last outing saw them come agonisingly short against Argentina in the World Cup final in 2022.

In the much-talked about interview, Mbappe said: ‘I won the World Cup. I won the Nations League. That’s the only one that missed me with the national team after I did everything with the national team.

‘I really want to win this. My first competition as captain, so it’s really important for me and it’s always important for the country and we want them to be proud of us.
