Liverpool returned to the top of the Premier League table on Saturday night with a deserved 2-1 victory away at Wolves.
The Reds had briefly been replaced at the summit by Arsenal, who beat Leicester 4-2 earlier in the day.
However, Arne Slot’s men moved a point clear of both the Gunners and Manchester City thanks to goals from Ibrahima Konate and Mo Salah at Molineux Stadium.
Konate headed Liverpool into the lead in first-half added time before Rayan Ait-Nouri hit back for Wolves against the run of play in the 56th minute.
But Wolves were level for just five minutes as Mo Salah restored the away side’s lead from the penalty spot after Nelson Semedo had fouled former Wolves star Diogo Jota.
