Luke Shaw training alone as doubts grow for Euro 2024

England left back Luke Shaw trained away from his team-mates on Friday morning, as doubts continue to grow over whether will be able to play a part at Euro 2024.

Shaw has not played a competitive match since mid-February but was named in England’s 26-man squad earlier this month, with Gareth Southgate initially hoping he would be available to feature in the second group game against Denmark.

However, the 28-year-old did not even make the bench in Frankfurt on Thursday night after training on his own prior to the match, and he continued his individual training programme on Friday.

The 10 players that did not feature in England’s draw with Denmark on Thursday were out on the training pitch, but Shaw was nowhere to be seen as he worked alone indoors.

Those that did play against Denmark are having a recovery day, but Southgate’s attention has already turned to England’s final group game with Slovenia on Tuesday as he looks to try and get the best out of his players after two disappointing performances so far.
