Manchester United could not match their comeback heroics from midweek as they slumped to a 3-1 defeat at home to Brighton.
The Red Devils have now lost four of their previous five home league games at Old Trafford as Ruben Amorim struggles to make the historic ground anything like a fortress.
Brighton took the lead after just five minutes as Yankuba Minteh opened the scoring, but it was 1-1 at half-time thanks to Bruno Fernandes’ penalty.
Joao Pedro thought he had restored the visitors’ lead eight minutes after the break but his strike was ruled out by VAR after a foul by Jan Paul van Hecke in the build-up.
But the Seagulls kept pushing and got their win in the end thanks to goals from Kaoru Mitoma and Georginio Rutter.
