Man United Coach Rene Hake in X-rated Rant at Former Dutch Side

Manchester United’s potential new coach Rene Hake has been seen giving an X-rated rant towards players during his time at Utrecht in a viral video.

Mail Sport have revealed that the Red Devils want to add Hake, currently a manager at Dutch side Go Ahead Eagles, to Erik ten Hag’s back-room staff.

United are hoping to bring in Hake, 52, as well as Ruud van Nistelrooy as senior coaches in a move that will raise questions over the futures of Ten Hag’s current assistants Mitchell van der Gaag and Steve McClaren.

Following the news a video has gone viral of Hake giving an incredible rant towards his players, seemingly after a defeat, in which he tells one player they ‘f***ed up the game’.

The video shared by a Manchester United fan account, starts with Hake exclaiming ‘f***ing hell’ before turning to one of his players during his time at Utrecht which was between 2020 and 2022/

He vented: ‘I think you should tell something to the guys instead of sitting with your head down.

‘You f***ed up the game with two stupid yellow cards.’

A furious looking Hake is seen looking at the player, who is seen sitting on a chair, hiding underneath a top in disappointment with himself.

Hake continued: ‘That’s one and second if I put in an extra defender, f***ing s*** don’t give away the first zone then it’s three against two in the middle and they get a goal. Unbelievable.’

Fans have reacted to the video with one saying: ‘At United he wouldn’t last six months with our players.’

Another said: ‘Some players are about to crumble,’ though another argued: ‘They showed videos like this when we appointed Rangnick and look how that turned out.’

Hake has a similar background to Ten Hag having been brought up in the east of Holland. He went into management at Ten Hag’s first club as a player, FC Twente, and the two men have also coached Utrecht and Go Ahead Eagles.

He led the Deventer-based club into Europe for only the third time in their history – and the first time in nine years – when they beat Utrecht in extra-time of a Europa Conference Play-off last month.

Hake and Van Nistelrooy have been lined up as part of an overhaul of the United coaching staff after Ten Hag kept his job following an end-of-season review.

The 54-year-old United boss is currently in talks over a new contract as his current deal enters its final year. Discussions are said to be ‘positive’ and it’s hoped the two sides can agree terms before Ten Hag returns for pre-season early next month.

The situation regarding Van der Gaag and McClaren is less clear, however. Both coaches joined United when Ten Hag moved from Ajax in the summer of 2022, but could fall victim to the round of changes being made by new co-owners Ineos.

Forwards coach Benni McCarthy will be out of contract at the end of the week and is also unsure over his future.
