Man United Fan Goes Viral in 7-0 Win Over Barnsley

A Manchester United fan has gone viral on social media after sitting within close proximity of the bench against Barnsley. 

Erik ten Hag’s men booked their place in the fourth round of the Carabao Cup with a thumping 7-0 win over the Championship side. 

Alejandro Garnacho, Marcus Rashford and Christian Eriksen scored two apiece on top of Antony’s spot-kick at Old Trafford. 

For one United fan, it was a night to remember as he sat just one row behind the United players and staff. 

The supporter managed to shake hands with Ten hag and his assistant Ruud van Nistelrooy just before kick-off.

He even got a response from Jonny Evans after asking him a question, and then an autograph from the Dutch manager after full-time. 

Fans took to social media to react. with many in awe of the fans’ brilliant view at Old Trafford. 

One said: ‘Best seats in the house. What a lucky guy’, while a second posted, ‘I love this seat and the view is crazy’. 

A third posted on X: ‘That’s the best position to sit! The view is awesome, coupled with the fact you’re right behind this players’. 

‘I need to be in that seat at least once in my life,’ a fourth United fan added. 

Asked if it was the perfect night having comprehensively beaten his previous 4-1 best, Ten Hag said: ‘Yes, you can say (that) – not for me but for the team it’s the perfect night.

‘I think we could do everything what we planned to do. I think how we win, next round, scored some great goals, entertained the fans, we worked on our game model, so we are happy.

‘I was not devastated after Liverpool (3-0 defeat). I am not now celebrating.

‘We are in a journey and we will see where we are in May because then we have to be good, and then you have to be at your best and, in the meantime, every time progress the team.’
