Luke Littler has revealed that he is interested in entering the list of celebrities who own a football club in the near future.

The well-known Manchester United fan has opened up on following in the footsteps of Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney – the famous Hollywood stars who also own League One side Wrexham.

The darts sensation won his first world title last month after becoming a millionaire last year, and is now looking at ways to invest his growing fortune.

However, Littler is not considering spending significant amounts of money on his first club, as he has revealed his plans to buy a National League North team.

In a video for Specsavers’ Best Worst Team, he said: ‘It would be an investment for myself in the coming years.

‘I’ve got a local team. Warrington Town, who are in National League North… Maybe that could be an idea for the future.’

Even though the Cheshire club has never been promoted above the sixth tier of English football, such a boost could aid their development.

Reynolds and McElhenney have guided Wrexham to consecutive promotions in recent years, and the Welsh club are currently in the League One play-off places.

Littler will hope he can follow their lead, while their are other celebrities that have also ventured into football ownership.

NBA legend LeBron James has a minority share at Liverpool, and NFL icon Tom Brady has invested in Birmingham City.

Another former NFL star, J.J. Watt, alongside his wife, is a minority investor at Burnley. Last season, he was spotted at the Turf Moor for his side’s opening game against Manchester City.

It is known that the Nuke is also a big fan of rugby league team Warrington Wolves. He will attend their opening Super League clash against Catalans Dragons on February 21 after the club revealed they will rename their ground to the Luke Littler Stadium.
