Pep Guardiola is set to be reunited with Barcelona this summer after Manchester City confirmed their pre-season tour on the United States.

City are playing four friendlies across two weeks Stateside and start against Scottish Premiership champions Celtic on July 23 in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.

The FC Series tournament will take Guardiola’s side to New York’s Yankee Stadium to face AC Milan four days later, before they then head down to Florida.

Barcelona are the opponents in Orlando, with Guardiola meeting the club he managed to an historic Treble in 2009 – a feat replicated at City last season.

City finish their preparations for the 2024-25 season in Columbus, Ohio, when taking on Mauricio Pochettino’s Chelsea in a stadium capable of housing more than 100,000.

That is seven days before a potential Community Shield at Wembley and a fortnight prior to the Premier League kicking off.

Peter Laundy, Senior Vice President Partnerships at City Football Group, said: ‘Our 2022 pre-season visit to the United States was hugely successful, including our sell-out fixture at Lambeau Field, Green Bay.

‘The club’s presence, fan base and status continues to grow significantly within the region.

‘We can’t wait to play more matches, deliver more unique experiences and opportunities for our fans across the country to enjoy with Manchester City when we return later this year.’
