Man United will play Real Betis in San Diego on their US tour this summer.

They will face the Spanish team at the Snapdragon Stadium – where a young United side played Wrexham last summer – for the Snapdragon Cup on July 31. Games have already been announced against Arsenal in LA on July 27 and Liverpool in South Carolina on August 3.

United’s football director John Murtough said: ‘Pre-season matches are designed to give our team the best possible preparation for the start of the Premier League season, while also providing top-class entertainment for fans.

‘This latest confirmed fixture against Spanish side Real Betis completes our line-up of high-quality opponents from Europe’s top leagues during our tour of the US this summer.

‘We had a great experience during last year’s visit to San Diego and everyone at Manchester United is looking forward to returning to the Snapdragon Stadium and reconnecting with our passionate and loyal fans in the region.’

United goalkeeper Andre Onana added: ‘I flew out to the US to meet up with the team when I joined the club last summer.

‘I also made my debut for United whilst in America. It has some of the biggest and best sports stadiums in the world and I am very much looking forward to returning again this year to play against top quality opponents, and to meet more of our US supporters.’

Snapdragon will replace TeamViewer as United’s principal shirt sponsor from next season and Don McGuire, senior vice-president and chief marketing officer of owners Qualcomm, said: ‘As the incoming, global front of shirt partner of Manchester United, we are excited to help bring the team back to Snapdragon Stadium in San Diego and host the club’s match against Real Betis.

‘The match will be an incredible opportunity to watch first team players as they prepare for the upcoming season and will be one of the first matches played in the team’s new kit, bearing the Snapdragon brand on the front. We are so proud to expand our global partnership with this historic club as we build for the future.’
