Kylian Mbappe is ‘raring to go’ for France’s clash against Poland, according to Didier Deschamps, after missing out on their last Euro 2024 match with a broken nose.

The forward suffered the grizzly injury during Les Blues’ first group game, a 1-0 victory against Austria, after colliding with the shoulder of defender Kevin Danso.

But Mbappe took a step closer to a comeback after playing against German side Paderborn’s Under-21s on Saturday, a significant boost to boss Deschamps.

Now, the 55-year-old has revealed that the forward is in line to make a return to the France side and insisted Mbappe is ‘getting used to the mask’.

Deschamps said: ‘It’s better everyday. He was in our training sessions. The bruise has gone down a lot. He’s getting used to the mask.

‘He wants to play, he’s raring to go. He wanted to play against the Netherlands and he wants to play tomorrow.’
