Paul Scholes slammed Manchester United as an ‘uncoached’ team under Erik ten Hag as the club legend spent almost two minutes blasting their performance after Sunday’s 3-0 defeat against Spurs.
Ten Hag is under the microscope once again as United were routinely dismantled by Ange Postecoglou’s impressive Spurs side, leaving them 12th in the league standings.
A torrid start to the new Premier League season has seen United again fail to show their title credentials with three uninspiring defeats posing more questions over Ten Hag’s future.
The Dutchman started his third successive campaign as United boss after winning the FA Cup handed him a career lifeline and another heavy of summer spending was expected to yield an improvement.
INEOS chiefs handed Ten Hag a recruitment warchest throughout the offseason and spent in excess of £180m to bring in five new first-team players in a vow of support for the Dutchman.

Former Man United star Paul Scholes fumed the club look ‘uncoached’ under Ten Hag
Another heavy recruitment window means the 53-year-old has now spent more than £600m on new players since joining the club in 2022, but Scholes believes players look ‘dead’ under Ten Hag’s guidance.
‘Players looked dead today, they looked flat, they looked like they don’t know what to do and there is no enthusiasm for the game of football,’ Scholes told Optus Sport.
‘You don’t know how they are going to play, how they’re going to approach games, are they going to play on the counter-attack, try and sit deep, try and have all possession? We have no idea.
‘Of course we should [know by know]. They look an uncoached football team.
‘I think whatever happens, happens and he [Ten Hag] just takes it. It’s not [acceptable] we are two-and-a-bit years in now and from the first week Postecoglou went in we probably knew what Tottenham were going to do and are doing it to this day.
‘We’re two-and-a-bit years down the road and it’s an uncoached team and that can only come from the training pitch.
Scholes believes Spurs boss Ange Postecoglou has developed a style of play quicker than Ten Hag
‘They don’t know what they want. Some of the positions that people take up on the pitch it’s just madness at times. Stop hearing excuses, get on that training pitch and find a way of playing.
‘Just give us something. He [Ten Hag] really praised Postecoglou for the way they play, why don’t you try something like that?’ added Scholes.
Ten Hag signed a new contract at the club in the summer after being backed to continue, but has overseen just two wins in six Premier League matches this season.
Meanwhile, former United striker Michael Owen also joined Scholes in blasting his former side and told the club to stop giving Ten Hag money to spend on overinflated transfers.
