Abdallah Sima, Cyriel Dessers and Kemar Roofe all score to help Rangers claim a dramatic victory against Real Betis and book their place in the knock out stages of the Europa League.
The victory sees Rangers top the group, with the Scottish side taking the lead after just ten minutes, with Tavernier picking up a clearance from the Betis goalkeeper, before driving the ball upfield finding Cyriel Dessers in the penalty area who layed the ball off to the Senegalese international.
The 6ft 1in winger stepped forward and struck a low right-footed shot into the goal to give Philippe Clement’s side the lead.
But their lead lasted just three minutes, with Borja Iglesias and Juan Miranda linking up in an excellent one-two, before Miranda thumped the ball across the face of Jack Butland in net to pull one back for the home side.
But the game took another dramatic twist, and we hadn’t even played 20 minutes. And it was a sensational goal from Dessers, who produced a sublime solo run weaving around multiple Betis defenders, before slotting the ball past the opposition goalkeeper to make it 2-1.
Ayoze Perez made it 2-2 in the 36th minute, after Isco played a lovely pass out wide to the former Newcastle man, who curled the ball round Butland into the back of the net.
