Roberto De Zerbi has revealed why he will never choose to coach in France again in a furious post-match interview.
De Zerbi, 45, was left fuming after his Marseille side suffered a 3-0 defeat away to Auxerre in Ligue 1.
The result, which leaves them ten points behind league leaders – who have a game in hand on their rivals – did not go down well with the Italian.
Brighton’s former coach was enraged by referee Jérémy Stinat’s decision to show defender Derek Cornelius a second yellow card when the visitors were trailing 1-0 and looking for a way back into the game.
Speaking to Telefoot after the final whistle, De Zerbi was unable to contain his anger at the decision.
He said: ‘I’m Italian, and after OM I’m not going to coach in France again.

There’s a problem in the French championship, if French people are happy with this level of decision making, then good for them. But today it was scandalous.
‘The referee was not in [the right state of mind to officiate] this match because of all the controversy surrounding him.’
De Zerbi’s comments come after Marseille sent a complaint to the board of arbitration of referees earlier this week over Stinat being chosen to referee the match.
Marseille objected to him being chosen as he was at the centre of the three-month suspension handed to Marseille’s director of football Medhi Benatia after they were knocked out of the Coupe de France by Lille last month.
The anger felt by Zerbi was shared by Marseille’s club president Pablo Longoria , who reportedly ‘flew into a fit of rage’ in front of journalists following the loss to Auxerre.
Per La Provence, he said: ‘Everything has been organised. It’s planned, it’s rigged.
‘There’s a penalty on Merlin, four European referees have told me so by message, and the most scandalous thing is the red card to Cornelius.’
‘This is a sh***y championship, If the Super League comes to see us, we’ll go right away.’
