Roy Keane has revealed that he was recently left fuming by a player when their team was losing, and wanted to confront them after the match.
The Manchester United legend made the comments on the recent Stick to Football podcast, brought to you by Sky Bet.
Keane normally vents his ire at Premier League players and clubs, but the discussion on the podcast took a surprising turn towards League Two football and in particular a match between Milton Keynes Dons and Salford City on Monday night.
Canadian goalkeeper Tom McGill, on loan at MK Dons from Brighton, was the subject of Keane’s tirade due to his behaviour in the latter stages of their 1-0 loss to the side owned by the Class of 92.
‘The craziness I find when players are coming up playing out the back when they’re losing,’ Keane said on the podcast.
Roy Keane reveals he wanted to confront a player following a match earlier this week
Roy Keane’s annoyance was with MK Dons goalkeeper Tom McGill (on loan from Brighton)
‘The goalkeeper was coming out, he was taking seven or eight touches…
“I was going to hang around the dressing room after the match and see the MK Dons goalkeeper and ask him, going ‘you know when you’re losing with 15 minutes [left]… you’re f***ing losing!’

Keane’s rant prompted laughter from the podcast’s co-hosts Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher.
The former United captain continued his tirade, insisting that in the moment he wished he could call ‘time out’ while watching the game.
‘You know in American sports, the time out. After 70 minutes you just do the time out,’ Keane said while making a ‘T’ gesture with his hands.
‘The lads will come over to you and go ‘Lads, you know we’re losing, you have to get the ball down there’.
“[You see] 19 passes. MK Dons. Who do you think you are? Get it forward. It’s as if they don’t know what the score is.’
Carragher then turned to Salford co-owner Neville, before joking: ‘Those are the opinions of Roy Keane and not Salford FC.’
Keane said that he wished he could have called a ‘time out’ for McGill during the game
McGill himself told the club’s media channels that the display wasn’t good enough.
He said: ‘We are coming away from the pitch thinking that we’ve dominated, we’ve created chances and we’ve had spells in the game where we’ve looked really, really good, and I think that’s the style playing its part.
‘But also where they’ve tried to stop us in doing what we’re favourable at doing, we’ve tried to go a little more direct at times and that’s worked for us as well.
‘The energy of the group overall, what style we’re trying to play, I think we’ll make it work and we’ll always create chances. we’ll always have big moments in the game. But it’s one win from four at the moment and it’s a disappointing night.’
