Scottish and Irish fans have brutally mocked England after their devastating 2-1 defeat against Spain in the Euro 2024 final on Sunday.

The Three Lions, who have not won a major trophy since the World Cup in 1966, fell short of glory again after Mikel Oyarzabal’s 86th-minute winner crowned Spain champions in Berlin.

After a tense first half, Nico Williams put England behind shortly after the break until substitute Cole Palmer inspired hope with a superb strike from outside the penalty box in the 73rd minute.

Scottish and Irish supporters needed no second invitation to pile in on England’s misery, ruthlessly mocking the Three Lions and their fans after the game.

‘Let’s all laugh at England,’ one fan said, accompanying their post with several laughing emojis and a picture of Spanish defender Dani Carvajal making a mocking gesture during the final.

Carvajal mimicked crying after Bukayo Saka was fouled in the 23rd minute of the match, creating an image for several anti-England fans to use after the final.

Tennent’s Lager, the official partner of the Scotland national team, unveiled a billboard early on Monday morning which read: ‘Don’t worry England, we bottle it too.’

Scotland finished their Euro 2024 campaign bottom of Group A, with the joint-lowest points tally and worst goal difference in the tournament.

They were, however, the only team to beat champions Spain across the Euro 2024 qualifiers and finals matches, winning 2-0 back in March 2023.
