Hollywood-backed Wrexham will take on Birmingham City, the English football team backed by NFL legend Tom Brady on Monday.
In possibly the most star-studded League One matchup in the history of Britain football’s third division, other A-list sports stars have gotten in on the fun, like longtime Brady rival Eli Manning.Â
After Wrexham’s official account posted Manning in a Red Dragons’ jersey on Friday, with him responding ‘Now I can beat @TomBrady in football and fĂştbol! Go @Wrexham_AFC!’
Brady had his retort to the former New York Giants quarterback, who he lost two Super Bowls to. Â
Famous actors Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney own the Welsh upstarts, while Brady is an owner of Birmingham City, who were relegated from the Championship last season.Â

Fox’s current No 1 color commentator, who just began his broadcasting career on a 10-year, $375million contract, needed a chrome-trophy prop to hit back at Manning and Wrexham. Â
‘So I’ve been working on our little response video to Eli and I’m looking around the house, and I can’t find the other six of these,’ Brady said, holding up the Lombardi Trophy.Â
Although Brady lost both Super Bowl appearances to the Giants, he won the NFL’s championship game on seven occasions and is one of the best players in the league’s history. Â
‘Rob, can you just educate the Wrexham fans just a little bit on the history of the NFL?’ Brady continued. ‘Thanks bud, appreciate it. I’ll see you Monday.’Â
Wrexham is visiting Birmingham on Monday, with Brady on the call for Saints-Cowboys on Sunday afternoon. That would make for a quick flight out of Texas and to England if he were to attend the matchup in person.Â
Birmingham and Wrexham are both off to good starts to the League One season, as two of the division’s three teams to have not lost a match yet, alongside Stockport.Â
