Al-Ittihad have submitted a proposal in the region of €35 million for Arsenal star Leandro Trossard, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The Saudi Pro League summer transfer window will slam shut at 22:00 BST on 2 September and Al-Ittihad are eyeing a bold late move for the Belgium international.

Trossard has spent the past 18 months at Arsenal, but the arrival of Raheem Sterling on loan from Chelsea means his place within the first-team set-up in north London may be under threat.

The 29-year-old has 19 goals and 12 assists in just 71 Gunners appearances, averaging a goal contribution every 111 minutes since he joined the club from Brighton & Hove Albion.

Mykhailo Mudryk was Arsenal’s first-choice target during the January 2023 transfer window, but Chelsea won the race for his signature and Mikel Arteta’s side signed Trossard instead.

Since then, the Belgian has emerged as one of Arsenal’s most clutch players, but he could leave the club just days after the Premier League summer window closed.

“Decision up to Arsenal as he’s always been an important player for Arteta.

Official proposal arrives ahead of Saudi Pro League deadline, as Al Ittihad keep looking for new winger.”

Arsenal’s summer transfer business

During the summer window, Arsenal bolstered their first-team squad with the permanent additions of Riccardo Calafiori, David Raya and Mikel Merino, while the aforementioned Sterling joined the club on a season-long loan deal.

With regards to outgoings, Emile Smith Rowe, Eddie Nketiah and Aaron Ramsdale all left the club, joining Fulham, Crystal Palace and Southampton respectively.

Meanwhile, Reiss Nelson and Fabio Vieira departed on loan, with the former joining Fulham for the campaign and the latter re-joining Portuguese giants FC Porto.
