Arsenal are reportedly set to go “all out” in their bid to sign Sporting CP centre-back Ousmane Diomande next summer.

The Gunners have arguably the best defensive depth in the entirety of Europe, but Mikel Arteta is still eager to bolster his backline in 2025 and Diomande has emerged as one of their priority transfer targets.

The Ivorian has been linked with a big-money move to the Premier League for several months, with Chelsea also keeping close tabs on his progress at Sporting before signing Tosin Adarabioyo on a free transfer from Fulham.

Arsenal’s ‘MISSING LINK’ revealed

Arsenal remain interested in Diomande and they are ready to go “all out” to land him next year, according to Fichajes.

The Gunners and Chelsea have both seen recent offers rebuffed by Sporting, as per reports in Portugal, but Arteta’s side have not been deterred and they are set to submit a fresh offer in the coming months.

In addition, rumours have suggested that Ruben Amorim is keen to bring Diomande with him to Manchester United in 2025, however Arsenal are determined to win the race for his signature in a bid to provide competition for first-choice duo William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes.

Ousmane Diomande to Arsenal?

Arsenal added Italy international Riccardo Calafiori this summer, but Arteta isn’t satisfied with his current crop of defenders and Diomande is now seemingly their top target, ahead of Ajax wonderkid Jorrel Hato.

The 20-year-old has made 68 appearances for Sporting since arriving last year, scoring four goals, while his contract in Lisbon is due to expire at the end of June 2027.

Diomande has an Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) of just €9.5 million, but Sporting are reportedly unlikely to let him leave unless his €80m release clause is triggered.

Bayern Munich have also expressed their interest in the Ivory Coast international, although it remains to be seen if Vincent Kompany’s side are able to match the financial pulling power of the Premier League.
