OGC Nice goalkeeper Marcin Bulka has confirmed that Barcelona are interested in him.

The former Chelsea and PSG goalkeeper – who never made a senior appearance for the former and just two for the latter – has been enhancing his reputation at INEOS-owned OGC Nice in recent seasons.

Bulka has become a reliable Ligue 1 shot-stopper and a two-time senior Polish international, which has put him on the map for some bigger clubs around Europe.

One of the clubs that have taken a liking to him is Barcelona. Marc-Andre Ter Stegen will miss the season after suffering a heartbreaking leg injury and he has been replaced by Bulka’s compatriot Wojciech Szczesny, who has come out of retirement to save the Blaugrana.

Ter Stegen is 32 now and there is no guarantee that he will be the same upon his return given the extent of his knee issue, which has been described as being ‘more serious than an ACL injury.’

Bulka an option for Barcelona

There have been reports that Barcelona are looking at younger goalkeepers as long-term replacements for the German and it would not be a surprise to see Bulka linked with the club again in the future.

Speaking to Polish media, the 25-year-old has confirmed that Barcelona are indeed interested in his services. “As they say, in every rumour there is a bit of truth,” he said.

Gavi AMAZES on Barcelona return – He’s like a bull!

“I am here to perform well every week and give arguments for clubs like that to speak about me. It really is a compliment. When someone speaks about these clubs, it is extra motivation for me and a sign that I am doing things well.

“I have my dreams and my objectives. I want to play in the Champions League, I want to play for the national team in the biggest competitions and be one of the best goalkeepers in the world. I don’t have a dream club where I would like to play. We will see what will happen.”
