Bruno Guimaraes to Arsenal as €70m deal AGREED
Arsenal are ready to make a transfer offer for Newcastle United midfielder Bruno Guimaraes, according to reports in Spain.
The Gunners already want to sign Alexander Isak from their Premier League rivals and new sporting director Andrea Berta is drawing up plans to add Brazil international star Bruno to Mikel Arteta’s roster in the summer.
Isak confirmation as Arsenal prepare record-breaking summer window
The Emirates club already want to sign Alexander Isak from Newcastle but face a difficult test in landing either player.
Bruno could be available for a bargain price of €72 million (£60m), AS reports, with the Magpies having already agreed to let the 27-year-old depart for that figure if they fail to reach the Champions League. Given he has an Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) of €82m, this is a surprisingly small price.
There is no guarantee that the former Lyon star will accept Arsenal’s offer, though. He sees Newcastle as “his second home” and is very happy at the club. He also wants to win a trophy before he departs – something that he could do on Sunday in the Carabao Cup final against Liverpool.

Arsenal can afford Bruno and Isak
Berta, who is set to step into the vacant sporting director role at Arsenal, is driving this particularly deal and is already working tirelessly to land new additions. Real Sociedad’s Martin Zubimendi is already close to the North London outfit, as exclusively reported by FootballTransfers.
Bruno Guimaraes, meanwhile, is a player Berta tried to sign three times during his spell as a director at Atletico Madrid.
Arsenal are also associated with a move for Newcastle striker Alexander Isak, but the Sweden international is likely to prove tough to land. The Geordies will demand in excess of €100m for the prolific scorer and there have even been suggestions that they will hold out for a Premier League record fee upwards of €150m for the 25-year-old.
AS claims that the Gunners have the “budget to sign both players” but that landing Isak will be their absolute priority ahead of Bruno.
