Nottingham Forest could make a profit of over €40 million on Callum Hudson-Odoi, according to a report.

The former Chelsea wonderkid has managed to revive his career at the City Ground. Sold by the Blues for just €3.5m last summer, Hudson-Odoi had an immediate impact at Nottingham Forest.

In previous seasons, the 23-year-old had struggled with injuries and Chelsea ultimately decided to cut their losses after an unsuccessful loan spell at Bayer Leverkusen. However, Hudson-Odoi showed last term that he is still an eminently talented player.

In fact, the Englishman outperformed €70m-€100m Chelsea signing Mykhailo Mudryk in 2023/24, illustrating that Chelsea were perhaps too quick to give up on him.

The past can’t be undone, however, and Hudson-Odoi now appears to have a very bright future.

Forest set price

According to The Athletic, Nottingham Forest now value the winger at around £40m or €47m after signing him for just €3.5m last year. This revelation comes amid heightened interest in his services after his first season with the Tricky Trees.

Hudson-Odoi is said to have admirers in England and abroad. Tottenham were at one point tentatively linked with him, but that interest was quickly played down.

Nevertheless, the 23-year-old is clearly a man in demand and many clubs still believe that he could yet realise all that potential he showed when he first burst onto the scene at Chelsea.

As for Forest, they have no intention to sell the attacker despite putting a price on him. It remains to be seen whether they will eventually have to soften their stance, however, given their much-publicised financial issues.

That said, it appears unlikely that clubs would be prepared to match Forest’s full valuation of the player. Hudson-Odoi is only under contract until 2026 and currently has an Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) of €27.4m, as per FootballTransfers’ in-house algorithm.
