Chelsea handed DREAM opportunity to sign Delap alternative
Chelsea’s misery reached new heights following their woeful 3-0 loss to Brighton & Hove Albion on Friday night.
Enzo Maresca’s eye-catching start at Stamford Bridge seems like a distant memory and several supporters have already pleaded for the Italian to be sacked before the end of the 2024-25 campaign.
The Blues have slipped to sixth place in the Premier League table and with just two wins in their last nine matches in the competition, an urgent reaction is needed if they want to secure Champions League qualification for next season.
Chelsea submit ‘IMPOSSIBLE TO REFUSE’ offer for Arsenal target
Chelsea failed to muster a single shot on target against Brighton and their toothless attack has looked even worse in the absence of Nicolas Jackson.
The Senegal international hasn’t scored since netting against Brentford back on 15 December, and with Christopher Nkunku also flattering to deceive, Chelsea are in desperate need of a new centre forward this summer.
Ipswich Town star Liam Delap appears to be the club’s priority target at present, although the England U21 international is likely to cost in excess of €60 million and he recently admitted that he remains happy at Portman Road.
As a result, Chelsea may be forced to look at alternatives and Strasbourg star Emanuel Emegha could be the perfect bargain buy.

Emanuel Emegha to Chelsea?
Emegha joined Strasbourg from Sturm Graz for €13m in 2023 and he is currently enjoying a rich vein of form under Liam Rosenior.
The Netherlands U21 star has scored seven times in his last seven Ligue 1 matches, meaning he now has 10 goals and two assists in 17 league appearances this campaign.
Emegha’s Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) currently stands at €18.2m and given Chelsea also own Strasbourg, they would realistically be able to sign the 22-year-old for a bargain price this summer.
Stepping up from Ligue 1 to the Premier League isn’t always a smooth transition, but Emegha’s recent form suggests he could be the answer to Chelsea’s centre forward woes.
The Dutchman is a huge physical presence at 6ft 4in and he is a huge threat when running in behind, similar to Jackson.
He certainly isn’t the finished article and is in need of polishing his end product, but Emegha is an extremely talented forward and given his recent goalscoring record, Chelsea would be wise to pursue a possible summer deal.
