Sesko is BACK – and Arsenal still ‘front of the queue’

Benjamin Sesko has ended his Bundesliga scoring drought – and Arsenal still plan to sign him, according to a report.

The RB Leipzig striker has come under fire in recent weeks as he, like the rest of his teammates, struggled in front of goal. The Bundesliga side failed to really impress against teams that sat deep and this saw Sesko restricted to just one shot per game in his first four league outings.

However, the striker has finally broken his duck. On Saturday, Leipzig hosted Augsburg in what was being billed as a must-win game after successive 0-0 draws and the favourites certainly performed.

Arsenal to face SHOCK rival for Nico Williams transfer

Sesko ended his drought by scoring a brace with two very different but equally impressive goals. The first was set up by Lois Openda in brilliant fashion. With a pass fired at the Belgian, he pulled off a perfectly executed backheel to get the ball to his strike partner, who drilled it into the bottom corner from outside the box.

The second goal saw Sesko peel off his defender to head home a great cross from David Raum. The two strikes illustrated why the Slovenian is such a highly-rated young striker and he remains a target for Europe’s elite.

Arsenal still keen on Sesko

Ben Jacobs previously reported that Man Utd have retained their interest in the 21-year-old for 2025 and he has now added Arsenal to the list of sides still keeping tabs on him.

The Gunners were confident that they would land his signature in the summer, only to be left stunned when he decided to extend his Arsenal stay. However, Sesko would have favoured a move to the Emirates had he opted to leave the Bundesliga.

Arsenal ‘willing’ to make SHOCK January transfer

This is why Arsenal remain ‘at the front of the queue’ for the striker and it would not come as a shock if they were to return for him next summer. If his Augsburg brace is the start of a better run of form, it is almost guaranteed that the Gunners and other Premier League sides will be battling for his signature again next year.
